Public Moves
Public Moves project are mass performance projects often created with mixed groups of people: a kind of modern day ritual in which people gather together in a public space or building to experience interconnection with each other through movement, touch and vocalization. Public Moves projects directly ask questions such as:
Can a group of strangers build connections and trust each other?
How can we literally and figuratively touch each other in public space?
How can public spaces be transformed by citizens joining together for creative expression?
These projects are created through one week to months long residencies. Producers of Public Moves projects have included the American Visionary Art Museum (Baltimore), The World Financial Center (New York), Indaco (Italy) and the University of Texas.
